2023 Aglianico

$29.00

Harvested on October 27th, 2023, from Tres Pinos Creek Vineyard—a small, organically farmed parcel within the greater Siletto Family Vineyard in the Cienega Valley. These own-rooted Aglianico vines, sadly, were removed after the 2023 harvest due to virus damage, making this the final vintage from this site.

Fermented with native yeast on skins using 50% whole clusters, the wine macerated for just three days before being gently pressed and finishing fermentation in large 600 L neutral French oak casks. Both primary and secondary fermentations occurred naturally, followed by 15 months of élevage in the same casks. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it remains a pure and transparent expression of the vineyard.

Inspired by the Cerasuolo style of southern Italy — meaning “cherry-kissed” — this Aglianico bridges the depth of a red with the brightness of a rosato. Its brief skin contact lends a vivid cherry-red hue and supple texture balanced by firm acidity. Notes of dried cherries, alpine herbs, and tangerine zest carry through a long, savory finish.
